Tree Of Souls

Buy Tree of Souls

Tree of Souls

This is an actual tree I photographed in Florida in a grove of Banyon Trees. When I walked by it I did a doubletake, saying to myself “That can’t really be there!” Walking back, I circled the tree to see every angle. This was the angle that showed off what I call my “Tree of Souls”.

I’ve had it on exposition at my former gallery in Prescott in the size of 30” x 40” and the reactions were astonishing. People react to it with emotion and sometimes scorn. The majority feel it is a beautiful creation by Mother Nature.

I have it availabe in both color and black and white.
Black and white seems to be the most expressive.

I’d be interested in your feelings about it.

Tree of Souls

Tree of Souls is an emotional image for many people. I took this photo in Florida on one of my East Coast trips, quite by accident. While visiting some friends, I noticed a stand of these trees, grabbed my camera and went for a walk. When I first walked past this side of the tree, I did a double take. No. That couldn't be what I saw!... I thought to myself. I walked around it several times, finally settling on this side to take a photograph. It was so impactful that I actually got goosebumps as I started to frame the image in my camera. That has happened to me quite a few times in my life where an image I'm approaching almost gives me chills. Several times, I've had the hair on the back of my neck stand up and my body start to get an anxious feeling, like there is something so special here and I'm lucky enough to be here to take its image.

I've had the image on display several times, once at 32" x 48" in black and white. You can imagine what this looks like at that size. I've actually witnessed people that had to have their friends eventually pulled away from it because they were so captivated by the image. Women seem to be the most reactive as we all know women are closer to Mother Nature than men are. I have it in color and black and white. Either way, it's memorable.
